Tesat-Spacecom holds high prior-year level

Forecast for 2016 expects constant business development

PI1271 - Backnang, 15.01.2016: The positive order situation of the past year has led to a turnover of 352.4 million Euro at the space company from Backnang. The order intake of 311.8 million Euro is slightly down on the year 2014. The reason for this is the lower number of satellites commissioned on the world market.

The investment volume of Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG amounted to 13.3 million Euro in 2015, 79% above the previous year's figure. Research and development expenses amount to 36.5 million Euro.

As in the year 2014, around 1,200 employees were employed under the umbrella of the company from Backnang. Last autumn, four students in dual studies, four electronics engineers and four industrial electricians began their training at Tesat.

The highlight of the last year was the realization of the 100th optical intersatellite link between Sentinel-1A and the European communications satellites Alphasat with the help of a Laser Communication Terminal (LCT) from Tesat-Spacecom since its first link in November 2014 .

The high technology company looks optimistic towards 2016. While production utilization is low in the first few months, Tesat is able to keep its personnel and sales figures at a high level thanks to successful sales and production planning.
