Amplifiers from Backnang onboard NASA Spacecraft Juno
Aerospace company from around Stuttgart provides core technology for signal transmission over long distances
PI1276 – Backnang, 06.07.2016: After a distance of 2,800 million kilometers and a flight duration of nearly five years, spacecraft “Juno” finally reached its destination: the orbit of Jupiter. Its objective is it to explore the gas giant and gain new insights about the solar system and its emergence.

PI1275 – Backnang, 10.06.2016: As part of the 50th anniversary of the Institute for Communication and Navigation of the DLR, Prof. Pascale Ehrenfreund, CEO DLR, and Andreas Hammer, Managing Director Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG, signed yesterday in Oberpfaffenhofen a cooperation agreement on collaboration in the field of free-space optical communication technologies for space applications.

EDRS: First image transfer via laser established
Technology from Backnang enables image transfer on the SpaceDataHighway for the first time
PI1274 – Backnang, 02.06.2016: With the help of the Laser Communication Terminal (LCT) from Tesat-Spacecom yesterday, 1st June, two images - taken by the Sentinel-1A satellite - were transferred via laser link. The EDRS-A relais satellite sent the images of the Sentinel fully automatic to the Mission Operations Center at Airbus Defence and Space in Germany, who received them in the time span of one minute. The motive of the photos was the island La Réunion and its costal region.

PI1273 – Backnang, 29.02.2016: ALast Friday, Backnang's high technology company awarded its coveted supplier award for the eleventh time. From around 1,100 active suppliers, about 400 suppliers are in a constant supplier evaluation. Five companies were awarded this year for their outstanding performance in the field of quality and delivery reliability.

Highspeed for space: EDRS-A successfully launched
Tesat decisively involved with Laser Communication Terminal and Relay Payload
PI1272 – Backnang, 04.02.2016: On January 29, 2016, the first laser node of the European Data Relay Satellite System (EDRS) was successfully launched into the orbit on board a Proton missile at 11:20 pm Central European time. The Eutelsat 9B telecommunication satellite reached its destination at around 36,000 kilometers above the equator after a nine-hour flight time, where it is now subjected to in-orbit tests.

Forecast for 2016 expects constant business development
PI1271 - Backnang, 15.01.2016: The positive order situation of the past year has led to a turnover of 352.4 million Euro at the space company from Backnang. The order intake of 311.8 million Euro is slightly down on the year 2014. The reason for this is the lower number of satellites commissioned on the world market.

Tesat opens new exhibition foyer
PI1270 – Backnang, 1.9.2015: On September 1, 2015, the new exhibition foyer of the space company Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG was ceremoniously opend, in the presence of Brigitte Zypries, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Economics and Energy and Coordinator for Aeronautics, and Christian Lange, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection. Also the Backnanger Mayor Dr. Frank Nopper was represented with a greeting.
