TESAT SCOT80 OPTICAL COMMUNICATION TERMINALS SELECTED FOR GPS DEMONSTRATION BY LOCKHEED MARTIN
Backnang, 3 December 2024 – Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG (TESAT) and TESAT Government (TESAT Gov) are pleased to announce their selection by Lockheed Martin to provide SCOT80 optical communication terminals (OCT) for a demonstration on a future GPS III spacecraft.

TESAT: MINISTER PRESIDENT KRETSCHMANN OPENS SERIES PRODUCTION OF LASER TERMINALS FOR SATELLITE COMMUNICATION
Backnang, 21 August 2024 - In presence of representatives of the German Space Agency at DLR, the Baden-Württemberg state parliament and the city of Backnang, Minister President Winfried Kretschmann opened the world's first facility for the industrial production of large quantities of laser terminals and equipment for satellite communications. TESAT's new production building in Backnang can manufacture up to 100 units per month. A few years ago it was just one per year. This will enable TESAT to expand its leading position in a rapidly growing market.

Backnang, 30 April 2024 - TESAT and MPB Communications took an important milestone to a new performance level of optical LEO to GEO data relays: The companies successfully demonstrated a 100 Gigabit per second (Gbps) data transmission at 40 W optical output power over a distance of more than 45,000 km in a laboratory environment at MPB Communications' optical labs in Montreal, Canada.
