Backnang, 17.01.2019: Due to the increased incoming order in 2018 and an expected increase in sales to around € 300 million in 2019, Tesat is optimistic about the future. More than 20 satellites in 2018 were shot into space with equipment from Tesat, while it also played key roles in well-known projects such as Galileo, Heinrich-Hertz, Orion and the European SpaceDataHighway EDRS. With a heritage of 50 years, Tesat has always been successful in the international market and is the market leader in several segments.

Especially in the field of laser based space communication, Tesat has a leading position: The laser communication terminals (LCTs) from Backnang have been providing unprecedented fast data transmissions in space for more than ten years. Here, Tesat offers solutions ranging from satellite constellations to small cube satellites and from optical ground stations to the ISS. Tesat is the only company world-wide with such a differentiated and space proven portfolio.

Keeping an eye on the current market developments and trends, Tesat has always invested intensively in the research and development of future-oriented products. “Tesat is with its broad product portfolio already well prepared for the future. However, we continually invest in technical advances and the optimization of existing processes. In addition, the promotion of skills and the expansion of skilled workers are relevant foundations for our future – in the medium term we plan to achieve growth of 20 %, which only can be achieved with the support of our work-force and the development of technological innovations.” so Marc Steckling, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Tesat.
